Tivoli - Villa Adriana

The second part of our visit to Tivoli was Hadrian's Villa built and used by the Roman Emperor as a retreat from the City of Rome and all of its politics. As you enter the site, a small visitor center has a scaled model of what the villa looked like circa 130 AD.

Before I get to the pictures of the villa, here are pictures from our hotel room (the balcony) last night at sunset (that is Mount Etna the active volcano in the distance) and from a terrace adjoining our hotel room for tonight as we prepare to eat our pizza again right before sunset. Both rooms are in Sicily and came with beautiful views.
